You should have your piano tuned at least once a year.

How long the piano remains stable depends on the piano's environment and the stage of deterioration

Performance instruments (churches, auditoriums) and pianos played by skilled musicians will need more frequent attention. For instance, pianos at America's premier music schools (i.e. Peabody, Eastman School of Music, Julliard) are tuned for every performance, even if daily.

Fine Tuning serves groups of piano students and has had the opportunity of watching what happens to many pianos turned at the same time each year. Our experience shows that after the third annual tuning, the piano becomes as stable as it can be in its environment, and the amount or tuning correction required becomes minimal.

Tuning once a year, always at the same time of year, works best.
